eBay.com have decided to change their holiday mandate for extended returns. Instead of removing the Top Rated Seller Discount for those sellers who don’t offer extended returns, everyone will keep their Top Rated Seller Discount.
To encourage sellers to offer extended holiday returns they’ve replaced the threat of losing your Top Rated Seller Discount with an incentive of a bonus 5% additional discount off your fees.
This new promotion starts on Saturday, November 1 and will end on Wednesday, December 31. It’s worth noting that the promotion will apply only to items sold during this period, it doesn’t matter if the actual listing starts and/or ends outside these dates.
We don’t know why eBay has made this change which they announced as “Good new for Top Rated Sellers”. Currently it applies ONLY to eBay.com. If we hear of any similar changes in the UK we’ll let you know, but at the moment for the UK if you don’t offer extended returns you won’t get your final value fee discount nor will the eBay Premium Service badge be displayed on your listings.
