Rakuten Play.com Site wide payments issue

No primary category set

Rakuten BugRakuten have a payments issue with their soon to be retired Play.com website. They’ve emailed their merchants saying

Dear Seller/Merchant
Please be advised that our payment processor is currently experiencing issues, meaning that any sales that have taken place since 2pm on Monday are awaiting payment and remain in the ‘sale pending’ status.
We are working closely with our payment service provider on a solution; we hope to have this resolved shortly when a further communication will be sent. At that stage your orders will begin to process through to the ‘Sold’ status. This only relates to Rakuten’s Play.com, we can confirm that any sales made on Rakuten.co.uk are not currently affected.
Thank you for your patience and understanding on this matter, please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Merchant Updates

If you’ve not had any sales on Play.com they may simply be pending, at least now you know why.

Updated to add: It appears that the issue has now been resolved;, the backlog of orders is expected to have completed and progressed to the ‘Sold’ status. Rakuten said “Again, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused; feel free to contact our Merchant Helpdesk at [email protected] should you have any queries regarding this issue”.
