$4tn of goods languish in abandoned shopping carts

According to research from financesonline.com, last year almost $4trillion of goods were abandoned by consumers in online shopping carts across the globe.

Apparently, 88% of visitors left an average cart of $109 picked but unpurchased. The below infograhic takes a look at the research.

  1. I ‘abandon’ carts because often the seller will come back to you with a large discount to continue the purchase. I thought this was common knowledge?
