Enterprise Nation publish 2015 SME manifesto

No primary category set

SME community and campaigning group Enterprise Nation has published a wish list for 2015: a selection of suggestions that it will be taking to Government in 2015 with the hope of some changes to the law.

You can download the full proposals on this page. They have also noted 10 things that the government did for SMEs in 2014

Some of the suggestions strike me as eminently sensible:

– Commit to making childcare expenses for the self-employed a tax-deductible expense.
This is a no brainer and wouldn’t actually cost anything as a tax break. It would, in particular, help out a lot of younger SMEs and entrepreneurs.

– Introduce a single EU threshold, below which small businesses will not be required to register for VAT MOSS.
This is essential in the UK to put digital items back on a fair footing with physical sales.
