The top 10 marketplace sellers on Amazon UK

Meet the top 10 UK Marketplace sellers on Amazon thanks to WebRetailer.

Amazon

We’re pleased to get this info from Andy Geldman at Webretailer. Check out the full report here.

Andy Geldman is open about how he is measuring this parade and also about how it can have shortcomings: “The sellers here are ranked by feedback. We’ve used feedback received in the past 12 months, so sellers of highly seasonal products shouldn’t be at an advantage. Feedback isn’t a direct measure of success, of course, but it is an indicator of sales volume. Amazon says that most sellers receive feedback on 10% – 20% of their sales, so the number of units sold is likely to be 5x to 10x more than the feedback shown below.”

His article is well worth attention if you’re an EU Amazon seller. Click through to see who your competition is and check out who you’re competing with internationally too.

We’ve always said Amazon is a competitive marketplace. Some of this data will be invaluable if you are competing on Amazon.

  1. I’ve bought a few bits off Babz in the past on eBay, I note on eBay in the last 12 months FB received is over a million, 1256890 to be precise. Quite a difference.

  2. I am surprised about music magpie or zoverstocks the only accounts in the top 1000 are the japanese and italian ones, maybe they sell more on ebay.

  3. Amazed to read: “most sellers receive feedback on 10% – 20% of their sales”. Perhaps I’m doing something wrong because I’m receiving only 1-2% feedback on my sales!

  4. Following on from the eBay VAT scandle, it’s interesting to see a couple of these Amazon sellers not displaying their VAT numbers – including the largest (all your music) and dodax-online-uk, unless I’ve missed the recent change to 6 digit VAT numbers…

  5. This is really interesting. Can we get data that goes lower than 250? Say the top 1000 in each country?

  6. I wouldn’t trust this data at all. Zoverstocks would most definitely be number one, yet they are nowhere to be seen.

  7. That is a bit disappointing. I wish Amazon would just produce this info themselves.

Ebay used to send a ranking out on their quarterly reports but now they don’t send them.
