Way back in 2013, I complained about seeing Burger King adverts on eBay – Frankly I couldn’t see the point as if I’m at home browsing the Internet nothing is going to persuade me to leave my sofa and run out for a bit of fast food. All that might be about to change as Burger King have started offering home delivery in 8 trial areas.
The trial areas are within a two mile radius of Burger King outlets in Romford, Truro, Hornchurch, Skegness, Hull, Northampton, Hayes, and Gants Hill. Customers in the catchment areas can order by phone or through the Burger King Delivers website in the afternoon between 12pm to 3pm and again in the evening from 6pm to 10pm.
It’s not exactly the cutting edge of ecommerce – Pizza companies pioneered the delivery of fast food decades ago, swiftly followed by Indian and Chinese restaurants and now you can order in practically any food you care for. The only question you need to decide is would you prefer to swap your regular takeaway for a cheeky burger?
Sooner or later I guess the Burger King adverts will return to eBay… and this time (if you live in one of the catchment areas) they just might tempt you into an immediate purchase.
