Paypal rival Visa Checkout is expanding. Originally launched about six months ago it’s going to be available this year in 13 new countries taking its reach to 16 in total.
Already available in the US, Canada and Australia, Visa Checkout will launch immediately in seven new countries: Argentina, Chile, China, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, and South Africa. Later in the year it will become available in Brazil, Colombia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and United Arab Emirates.
But don’t get too excited yet. Whilst this means Visa Checkout is available to buyers, sellers will be limited for the time being to those in the US, Canada and Australia who ship globally although there are plans to sign up local merchants later in the year.
