Who would you like to deliver your Valentine?

Mr and Mrs SmithHollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt has narrowly beaten US president Barack Obama to top a poll of people who online shoppers would most like to deliver their parcels. The star of World War Z and Troy received 12.1% of the votes while Obama closely followed with 11.8%.

The poll was conducted by delivery firm myHermes to celebrate Valentine’s Day, when consumers across the UK will be sending their loved ones gifts via the company’s courier service or its network of 4,500 myHermes ParcelShops.

Pitt’s current wife and his Mr & Mrs Smith co-star Angelina Jolie came in third, registering 10.6% of the vote, just beating his ex-wife and Friends actress Jennifer Aniston (10.5%), who Pitt left for Jolie in 2005.

Titanic actor Leonardo Di Caprio made a splash with the British public by coming fifth (7%), while other notable figures to make the Top Ten included Poker Face singer Lady Gaga, chat show host Oprah Winfrey, TV personality Kim Kardashian and Canadian chart-topper Justin Bieber.

Despite American celebrities dominating the results, there was also some love for the Brits too. Stephen Fry, the QI host, was the most requested home-grown courier, followed by former England captain David Beckham and Prime Minister David Cameron.

Of the 1,935 online shoppers surveyed by myHermes, two people chose Albert Einstein and another two chose Pope Francis. TV presenters Holly Willoughby and Jeremy Clarkson also received votes, as did Steve Coogan’s cringe-worthy comedy character Alan Partridge.

Carole Woodhead, CEO of myHermes, said: “It comes as no surprise to see that Brad Pitt was the most popular celebrity courier after winning the hearts of many females over the years. myHermes has more than 10,000 couriers in the UK and whilst we cannot promise David Beckham or Leonardo Di Caprio on the other side of the door, we can ensure that your parcel will be delivered with a friendly smile.

  1. So most people would want their valentines gifts delivered by somebody more attractive than them or their valentine.
