Amazon Disbursement delays

If you were expecting a bump in your bank balance today from your Amazon sales you may have to wait a little longer, they’re having payment issues again.

Amazon have posted the following message in Seller Central:

“Currently, there is a delay affecting the delivery of some recent Amazon seller disbursements to bank accounts. Our engineers are working to ensure that normal service is restored as soon as possible. (3/4 10:00 am BST)”

We’re pretty sure that Amazon don’t have any cash flow problems and it’s just a technical issue. However that doesn’t help small retailers keep to the cash flow forecasts they’ve used to promise their suppliers who will still want paying regardless of Amazon paying late.

  1. Is it me or are Amazon regularly having problems like this ?

Will Amazon ever improve their payments – I mean in this day and age to hold monies for two weeks and then for us they disburse on a Tuesday – but you don’t see those funds until the following Monday.

  2. this is one area at which the (european) financial regulators need to look

any payment delay generates interest – but not for you or me

how do we know that our funds are ‘ring fenced’ in the case that the nackers’ men are called in?

  3. How do we know Amazon isn’t in financial difficulty, this happens far too often for it to be a technical problem

Amazon inform us that payment is made on the Monday/Tuesday why does it take until Friday to appear in our accounts, I make a business transfer and it’s there in seconds
