Royal Mail says it will now enhance its Tracked 48 product and allow business customers to submit parcels up until midnight, Monday to Friday all year round.
These new extended hours will be serviced by 39 mail centres and eight regional distribution centres across the UK.
Nick Landon, Managing Director Royal Mail Parcels, said: “Royal Mail is a proud partner for British business. We work hard to listen and respond to the needs of our customers. We understood that later acceptance could make the difference between satisfied customers and delighted customers and we are very pleased to be helping companies to deliver exceptional service to their shoppers. This latest product enhancement is one more way that Royal Mail is building a better delivery service for British businesses and consumers alike.”
Royal Mail Tracked 48 is available to customers sending 1,000 parcels a year and this new late acceptance is offered to customers sending 50 parcels per collection.
It’s a step in the right direction and, perhaps, evidence that Royal Mail is getting serious about ecommerce sellers needs in the UK.

This is a step in the right direction but really not that useful unless they support Tracked24 til Midnight. Only then will RM be able to compete with Hermes.
How about, if they want to serve businesses better they:
A, respond to emails in a timely fashion
B, give us the right amount of trollies and sacks to fill with the parcels we have to send
C, help business to change to the new barcode system, as all we have received is an email telling us we HAVE to use barcodes, with zero help on how to do this
Until RM get basics right on account management they are going to loose customers like us and we spend around £150k a year with them on basic parcels, but no matter what the size they need to be looking after customers more.
