You can now use multi-channel service Volo to list and manage you sales on Rakuten.co.uk, according to a recent company blog post.
Rakuten.co.uk was formerly known as play.com and rebranded last year and is an online marketplace.
It looks like this development is the start of efforts from Volo to integrate fully with other international sites from Rakuten, as they say in their post: “To achieve the borderless retail experience they have created a single international platform that will see other Rakuten channels join over time. This will improve the ability to list globally and buy from sellers that haven’t been accessible before. It will also give you access to Rakuten’s vast portfolio of internet services. All of which will improve both the buyers and sellers shopping experience, a win win for everyone!”
Volo advises people who want to know more to contact their Volo account managers.
Of course, we’re not yet convinced that Rakuten.co.uk is a player in the British ecommerce market yet. So we’d love to hear from anyone who is selling successfully there.

Rakuten killed drove play into the ground and unless they pull something out of the bag I don’t think the replacement is ever going to come close to play’s 3% market share. I’m giving it 6 months and then finally giving up.
