Fashion Without Borders returns this Autumn

Fashion without BordersPentagon in partnership with government body UKTI, are holding their second Fashion Without Borders event in London, on Thursday the 17th of September.

Fashion Without Borders is a full day event, aimed at British brands and retailers who want to discover the potential of global e-marketplaces as a route to successful international etail.

Speakers from global marketplaces and industry experts will come together to share best practice advice on how to sell into a new territory, how to cater to the needs of the international consumer and how to overcome the potential barriers of cross-border trade.

You’ll be introduced to 16 marketplaces from Europe to the Middle East and Far East, on to Australasia and across to South America. Networking and dedicated breakout sessions will allow retailers to get direct answers to their questions, and provide one-on-one speaking opportunities with the marketplaces. Plus sessions on tax, localisation & translation, compliance and logistics & returns to make sure you’re aware of everything you need to know to get started.

The event takes place at the Grand Connaught Rooms, Great Queen Street, London and runs from 9am to 5.30pm with a drinks reception following immediately to 8pm.

The first Fashion Without Borders event of the year in May this year saw 150 of the UK’s top fashion retailers in attendance. If you want detailed exposure to international marketplaces and access to key representatives, then you’ll definitely want to register for the 17th of September before places fill up.

  1. Did anyone go to this last time?

I am interested to hear whether it is worth going.

  2. Hi Dave,

This event was very well received by retailers, who found it informative and engaging. Below are some testimonials from retailers who attended previously, but if you do have any further questions about the event please get in touch with the Pentagon Marketing Manager on [email protected]:

A very informative event with detailed exposure to international marketplaces and access to key representatives.

The speakers were fantastic and I managed to get so much useful info from them all, a really well organised event and well worthwhile!
    – Olivia Hearn, Parka London

It was a great event, probably the best I’ve been to. It was all very relevant and the speakers were all very informative and engaging.
    – John Elston, Smiffys

  3. I went – honestly one of the best events of the year, especially if you want to find out about a load of marketplaces around the world that you’ve probably never even heard of and find out how to get started on them.

Best of all you’ll be able to speak directly to someone from any marketplace you want to sell on during the breaks or evening drinks.

  4. Hi Dave,

The May event was a great afternoon, and we had 8 marketplaces giving short pitches about their particular sites as well as regional insights.

The September event will be a full day and we will have between 12 and 18 marketplaces (still waiting on some final speaker confirmations).

We want September to be more practical as well, so as well as getting the sales pitch for each marketplace we have sessions around tax, compliance, logistics, translation, localisation, returns and actual services that can be used to manage them.

Keep an eye on our micro-site and we will ask Chris to update Tamebay in a week or so to reflect some of the speakers that we are waiting to confirm.

    Hope you can make it!

  5. Another thing worth mentioning is that although we are focussing on fashion brands, each marketplace is obviously relevant for sellers of different products.

Don’t be put off if you don’t sell clothes or shoes, as each marketplace is looking for inventory in all categories.

  6. Thanks for the comments. I have signed up.

I didn’t realise it was free. Even better
