Doddle opens up shop in King’s Cross station, London

No primary category set

Doddle has opened up what it’s calling its flagship in King’s Cross station. The store will be open Monday to Friday from 7am to 8pm, Saturday 9am to 5pm and Sunday and Bank Holidays from 10am to 4pm. They say that 47 million pass through the area every year. Not just through King’s Cross but also via the neighbouring station at St Pancras.

Doddle is a joint venture between Lloyd Dorfman and Network Rail and now has 38 stores in the UK and 60k customers.

Tim Robinson, Doddle CEO says: “The opening of our King’s Cross store means Doddle has now dominated half of the mainline London train stations on the Monopoly board. King’s Cross is a brilliant location for a Doddle store, record passenger numbers and a large population of workers who aren’t at home to accept deliveries during the day. We’re delighted to have secured such a prime location right in the path of more than 47 million people every year and look forward to changing the way the local population send and receive parcels.”

From memory there are 4 stations on the Monopoly board: Fenchurch Street, Liverpool Street, Marylebone and King’s Cross. On top of King’s Cross, Doddle is already at Fenchurch Street.

So the Monopoly point seems a little coy when you consider Doddle does also have stores at Victoria, Waterloo, Cannon Street, and Paddington in London already. I’d have pointed out that myself.
