New services and lower prices from Parcel2Go

Parcel2GoParcel2Go have launched a new delivery pricing option in response to ever-increasing customer demands.

The new service with myHermes will apply to small items weighing up to and including 1 kilogram, and can now be sent across the country for just £2.16 ex. VAT when dropped at a myHermes Parcelshop, making it the cheapest option around, which will no doubt be greatly appealing to retailers and everyday consumers alike.

Parcel2Go also have a new £4.99 (plus VAT) service with DPD for 24 hour tracked delivery when you drop at any of the 2,500 DPD locations around the UK. Delivery will be made within 1-2 days after dropping your parcel off and will then be delivered to the recipients home/business address.

“Our new 1 kilogram delivery option will appeal to a wide range of people,” Robert Mead, Marketing Manager at Parcel2Go told us. “This will benefit large retailers who frequently find themselves paying large delivery fees even when sending single items, to independent eBay sellers who specialise in products such as jewellery. For the latter in particular, high delivery prices can mean they miss out on a profit. By having access to cheaper deliveries, retailers can potentially pass the savings on to customers, making their services all the more appealing.”

Not just specialising in low-priced domestic deliveries, they also provide an international delivery service, which allows customers to compare and choose the option best suited for them. Robert added that “The team at Parcel2Go.com also believe that by introducing rock bottom prices, the brand’s ongoing ‘Sent With Love’ campaign‘ – which encourages people to send meaningful packages to loved ones in distant lands – will become even more accessible.

  1. Headlines are great, although the backend has changed.
If you want Insurance, its now very expensive @ £5+vat per £100, which was included at £50/£100 previously.

  2. Using Hermes via Parcels2Go does not make business sense.

Not only is going directly to http://www.myhermes.co.uk easier and much quicker to use, it is cheaper, and standard coverage is £25.00.

There is no standard coverage whatsoever on Parcels2Go unless you pay extra.

  3. The Dpd sounds good on paper, but size limits are stupidly low.

Good though maybe if you sell match boxes!

  4. “24 hour tracked delivery when you drop at any of the 2,500 DPD locations around the UK. Delivery will be made within 1-2 days ”

That is a 48 hour tracked service, not 24.

Paypaluser, Parcel2Go is 2.592 incl VAT whereas Myhermes on their website quote right now £2.78 incl VAT. So it isn’t cheaper but does include £25 insurance. You could say you are paying £0.188 for the insurance by going to MyHermes

Parcel2Go are only good for the MyHermes options, other sites offer better rates on other service types, their website is limited in functionality (you can’t change your account e-mail address for example), and in my opinion their Customer Service arrangements are substandard.

  5. When I see these deals I often wonder how many people use websites from 3rd parties to access couriers. Surely if you are a regular sender you can just deal direct with the courier itself. We have always got better rates going direct and the system is much easier to produce labels. We only send 20-30 items per day so not a big user and even some quiet days only send 10 or 12.
