Give a Life jacket this Christmas

No primary category set

wnDirectThe guys at wnDirect have been thinking a lot about Christmas. In fact, due to the peak planning support they provide our retailers with, they’ve been thinking about Christmas since August! As the nights begin to draw in and the air gets a distinct chill in it, most of us conjure up images of sparkling lights and sounds of Christmas Carols. Although, for those who are homeless and live on the streets, the winter period can be significantly more miserable and harsh.

Wrap Up London

Wrap Up LondonThat’s why when they heard about the annual charity coat collection Wrap Up London, they were very keen to get involved. Returning for its fifth year, Wrap Up London asks Londoners to donate their old coats which will be given directly to help those most likely to struggle to keep warm during the winter months via homeless shelters, refugee centres, women’s refuges and other charities. The campaign kicked off on the 11th November and has set the target of collecting 22,000 coats this year.

At wnDirect they know a thing or two about delivery and aren’t bad at coming up with innovative ideas so started wondering how they could extend the reach of this fabulous campaign by offering their services. wnDirect decided that by offering the use of their returns portal they could enable people who aren’t able to deliver a coat to one of the collection stations in the City themselves, to do so using the wnDirect logistics network. They also decided to share the details of this fabulous charity with a few of our partners and are delighted to say that the lovely people at Collect+ also got involved.

So for anyone who doesn’t find themselves in the vicinity of a London station but would like to donate an old coat or two what do you do?

It’s as easy as 1-2-3

1. Log on to the Collect+ Wrap Up London portal and identify a participating shop where you can drop your donation off at.

2. Make the £3.75 payment which will cover the delivery of your lovely donation. Wrap your donated coat (or coats if you have more than one you can spare as the lovely people at Collect+ have not only reduced the delivery charge they are also allowing packages of up to 10kg). Then attach the Collect+ label to your package clearly so it can be scanned.

3. Take your parcel with the label attached to the local shop of your choice and wave goodbye to your donation. Leave the shop with a warm, fuzzy feeling motivated by the good deed you have just performed.
