Last month, myHermes confirmed Teenage Cancer Trust as its charity partner of choice. Throughout 2016, Hermes and their employees across the UK will support the charity, either through fundraising projects or volunteering.
They have already raised £2,455 for Teenage Cancer Trust following a raffle at the company’s recent annual conference. Casey Gent, 17, from Bradford and in remission after being treated on Teenage Cancer Trust’s unit at Leeds General Infirmary, joined Hermes CEO Carole Woodhead for a special cheque presentation held at the firm’s headquarters in Morley.
Annmarie Carey, Corporate Account Manager at Teenage Cancer Trust said: “It was great to have Casey come along and meet the Hermes team so they could hear first-hand how the money they raise supports young people with cancer. Like most of teenagers we support, he has been through so much at such a young age, but is a positive person and a real ambassador for the charity demonstrating just how vital our work is and what a difference it can makes to the lives of teenager like him. Thanks to everyone at Hermes for organising this raffle for on our behalf”.
Carole Woodhead added: “Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young people with cancer aged between 13 and 24. As the charity relies on donations to fund its vital work, we want to help as much as we can. Casey is an extremely inspiring and strong-willed individual and it was an absolute pleasure to welcome him to our head office”.
