Travelling Pole to Pole completely cash free

Can you travel the world without using any cash? PayPal challenged lifestyle and travel vlogger Steve Booker to travel to the ends of the earth completely cash free.

Eight countries, three continents and two weeks later, Steve has successfully completed his marathon journey travelling from the north to south pole without a single bank note or coin in his pocket, capturing his journey in a series of stunning photos and videos.

Steve documents his daily life and travels on his YouTube video blog (even his recent proposal), started out in Svalbard Norway inside the Arctic Circle and recorded the eight stages of his journey in a series of YouTube videos.

Everything he did was paid for with PayPal, from exploring Moscow’s underground tunnels to a jaw-dropping Gyrocopter ride in Cape Town and marching with penguins in the world’s southernmost city of Ushuaia.

It’s a good bit of publicity by PayPal, although I’m yet to convince my local garage to accept PayPal for my MOT and annual car service yet… I suspect some judicious choices had to be made to choose services and suppliers who do accept PayPal. Just the fact it can be done shows how widely accepted PayPal is today.

Here are the eight short vlogs posted by Steve on his travels:
