Gumtree launches new TV ads

eBay owned UK classifieds site Gumtree continues its marketing push following a site refresh and a rebrand to make it “less Australian“. It’s cute enough as TV ads go. The theme is: “opportunity starts on Gumtree.” Here’s the ad spot:

The campaign launches with a 30 second TV spot broadcast from Monday 18th January across Channel 4, Five and Sky. It will also appear in cinemas in the UK from Friday 22nd alongside The Danish Girl, In The Heart of the Sea and The Revenant.

The marketing spend is accompanied by some other measures. They’re providing 24-hour customer support through live chat, email and twitter on @helpmegumtree. There’s also improved local search and a new app.

Gumtree’s marketing head Hannah Wilson says of the campaign: “We set out to create a campaign that highlights the many opportunities Gumtree enables for people. Our previous campaigns have focussed on the fact that we are local, free and easy. We’re excited to now show the emotional relationship people have using Gumtree, with a beautiful new creative that truly reflects our values.”
