This interesting tip off came from an eBay seller today. It looks like eBay is finally investing in the auction side of their business.
It’s certainly the first time I’ve seen this feature. It allows buyers to opt in to getting a text 15 minutes before auction end. And whilst these are things that are available via the app, it’s no bad thing. Have you seen it before?
Auctions are waning on eBay so it’s fascinating to see that there are new features coming through on the auctions platform. There is doubtless more that eBay could do to support auctions. Auctions may no longer be the key feature of eBay but they are part of the mix. And an attractive part too.

Ebay has something that amazon dont do or compete with!
Finally after years of doing the wrong thing eBay have done something right well done to the eBay employee who thought this up.
Now if they can fix all the bugs on the site next
Second thoughts I bet they are selling all the phone numbers expect loads of unwanted calls and txts after using the service
i hate to be constantly negging, but knowing ebay i fully expect these text to arrive 30mins later than anticipated.
I’ve been getting them for 3 or 4 weeks and they do work. Well done eBay, quick, simple and easy – it’ll never catch on!
Its quite strange that Tambay has selected an example listing with contradiction terms in the title and description
Free Delivery
When the description clears says its not free delivery unless you spend £50 and live within a set area will this be another seller who is going to fall fowl of buyers not reading the description and expecting a 16ft piece of wood in the post
That’s a very positive move. Sometimes for every positive effort, they create two overly complicated negative ones, so I wait with baited breath to see what comes next.
