Shopify lets you use Facebook messenger to communicate with buyers

Facebook messenger is increasingly becoming a ubiquitous means of communication with already 800 million users across the globe. And as a retailer you want to plug into any channel that buyers are using to communicate with them.

So that’s why this initiative from Shopify caught my eye. They allow sellers to communicate directly with buyers, and potential buyers, using Facebook messenger.

As they say: “After purchasing a product, customers who are signed into Facebook will be able to choose to receive their order confirmation, shipping updates, and more through Messenger. Not only does this prevent order updates from getting lost in overcrowded inboxes, but it also makes it easier for your customers to track their orders, ask for assistance, and say “thank you”.”
