Amazon Lightning Deals open to 3rd Party Merchants

CATEGORY: Amazon News

We hear that Amazon third party retailers can now create their own Lightning Deals on Amazon UK (Thanks to Tamebay reader Sue for the tip). Lightning Deals are Amazon’s version of a Flash Sale, they are limited-time sales that run for up to six hours.

Amazon say that customers love Lightning Deals, and they provide benefits for merchants which include visibility on the Lightning Deals appear on the Deals page, one of the most visited pages on Amazon.

Lightning Deals may help drive additional customer discovery and sales both during and after the deal. If you build up sales history for your product they’re likely to appear higher in Amazon search, plus any feedback, reviews and sales velocity you receive will stand you in good stead for winning Amazon’s Buy Box in the future.

Amazon also suggest that you use Lightning Deals to clear out aged or unwanted inventory and for selling overstock or seasonal products. What also strikes us at Tamebay HQ as a good idea, is if you’re launching a brand new product on Amazon, it might be worth sticking it on a Lightning Deal to get some exposure and sales.

Finally of course, if you’ve got stock hanging around in FBA don’t forget that Amazon are going to hike their prices up for November and December. Why not use a Lightning Deal to reduce FBA inventory rather than pay to have good shipped back to your own warehouse?

  1. Hello Guys
Thanks for the info. it says that we can crate and choose or clear old stock, but i do not have options to choose. They recommended one of my items but it is already on sale and if i have to reduce the price non profit left, so how can i choose which product i can send.

    Thank you
