Etsy commit to support users in Brexit

No primary category set

EtsyEtsy have told sellers and buyers that they’ll do their utmost to help sellers with any new regulations following the UK’s EU Referendum result. They acknowledge that they don’t have all the answers or indeed even know the questions yet, but they’ve pledge support for all microbusinesses trading on their platform.

Their full statement is below:

Etsy continues to work in the UK and European Union to enable our community to buy and sell from all over the world. The passage of the referendum is the beginning of a long process that will play out for quite some time. This is day one and it will take some time to assess what this means for our global community. There are a number of open questions created by this event and we will be looking into the various issues. We are supportive of any measures to facilitate ease of sales into all markets for our sellers and any efforts to reduce regulatory burden for microbusiness and microentrepreneurs.

I know many of you probably have a variety of questions but it is too early to offer answers. Rest assured that we’ll provide more updates as the news develops and any specific issues become clearer.

We are proud of our global community and have always celebrated the diversity and inclusivity found on Etsy. Our sellers from across all markets have made Etsy what it is today and we are committed to providing support to our community in the coming months.
