Cdiscount is a French marketplace that’s getting a lot of interest lately and should absolutely be on your radar if you’re looking at expanding internationally, especially into France. Sellers say that it is particularly strong in sectors like computers, household items, homeware and electronics.
The Cdiscount brand has significant customer recognition over the Channel and the marketplace also has the merit of being less competitive than Amazon France. Obviously, one of the tricky aspects of overseas trade is fulfilment and that’s where the Expédié par Cdiscount service may be useful to you.
Discount use their C Logistique operation to fulfil orders on a retailer’s behalf, just like Amazon FBA. They hold, pick, pack and despatch Sellers can use the service to fulfil any order (not just a Cdiscount order) and the costs are the same regardless. The rate card for the service is, however, not published so you’ll have to strike a deal with Cdiscount.
This plugs into Cdiscount’s Amazon Prime-like buying programme called Cdiscount à Volonté costing €19 a year. And that gives shopper free carriage on orders over €25. Only sellers using Expédié par Cdiscount can access the subscribed buyers.
And you can bet your bottom dollar that an Expédié par Cdiscount seller also gets higher profile in search and preferential treatment on the marketplace, just like an Amazon FBA seller.
Expanding internationally is a great opportunity for marketplace sellers and we’d love to hear from anyone who has successfully used Cdiscount.

Tried CDiscount last year and had very poor sales and too many GNR. Ditched it pretty quick.
There is a document available from cDiscount if you contact their cLogistique team ([email protected]). Anyone interested can download their calculator here;

And there is an accompanying info PDF here;

But please note that the calculator is in French. Both documents may also now be out of date as it has been a few months since I looked into this personally. However it should be able to give a rough idea! :o)
