Kerv Contactless Payment RingPSI-Pay and Kerv have announced thttps://channelx.world/?p=67552&preview=truehat they are partnering up to enable the world’s first contactless payment ring.

The partnership utilises PSI-Pay’s MasterCard licence which will enable users of the Kerv contactless payment ring to pay in 38 million locations worldwide. Plus of course you’ll be able to use it on London tubes and buses, to open NFC enabled locks as well as to store vital personal information such as medical conditions you may have. Kerv users will be able to fund their account via debit or credit card, bank transfer or PayPal, either via a manual load, or the auto top-up service.

In addition to contactless payments, Kerv users may make online or in-app purchases with their virtual card (although frankly this rather does away with the convenience of the ring and personally I’d just rather use PayPal).

Kerv is engineered from aerospace-grade zirconia technical ceramic, and available in either black or white. But whichever colour you choose, Kerv’s sleek outer shell is lightweight, hypoallergenic and almost as scratch-resistant as diamond.

We’ve been told that mobile is the future of contactless payments, and that may be so the majority of the time. Today has been a scorcher across much of the country and if you’re heading down to the beach it makes a lot more sense to have a dip in the sea with just a ring than leave your mobile laying on the beach in your bag.

Rings are less obtrusive, remove the need to fish your phone out of your pocket or from the depths of your hand bag. What ever you’re going to tap and pay with you’ll use your hand so why not a ring?

Would you wear a contactless ring? If so do you like the Kerv design, or will you wait until you can get a diamond encrusted gold ring with NFC built in before you go shopping with your ring?

The Kerv contactless payment ring will retail for £49.99. You can pre-order today for £40.00 with delivery estimated in July 2016.
