The 2016 Ecommerce Football Tournament

We’re thrilled to be partnering with Genie and the Geek once again to bring you the Ecommerce Football Cup 2016. The date has been set for the 12th of July and once again the matches will be held at Wembley.

With 32 teams expected to take part, the the tournament is expected to start at 5pm. As per previous years the format is five-a-side, but experience teams us that teams with plenty of spare players tend to do well – it’s a hotly contested cup.

Tamebay Ecommerce Cup – Managed by Genie and the Geek

The Tamebay Ecommerce Cup is is always ably managed by the team from Genie and the Geek who travel down from Manchester. None of us fancies refereeing though so we always have professional refs to keep the more excitable footballers in line.

Date

12th July 2016, 5pm kick off. We recommend teams arrive half an hour early to change and warm up.

Cost

To cover the hire of the pitches and referees, there is a cost of £45 per team to enter.

Goals Wmebley, Alperton Lane, Wembley, Greater London HA0 1JH

Kits

All teams must wear the same colour top. It would be excellent if all teams had a full matching kit however as long as the colour of the top is the same, this will be acceptable. Bibs can also be worn.

Footwear

We are playing on outdoor 3G/5G artificial grass 5 a side pitches. Blades or astro turf boots should be worn. Studded football boots should not be worn as there is a high likelihood of injury when wearing these on astro turf pitches.

Match Rules

The goalkeeper must remain in his area at all times.
There is no head height rule in place.
Goals must be scored from outside the area.
Outfield players may not go into either area.
When the goal keeper passes out of the area, you cannot pass straight back to the keeper.
All free kicks are direct free kicks.

Changing Rooms, Showers and Bar all available and open until 11pm

We all know that it’s the taking part that counts, not the winning… but of course there’ll be a cup for the winners to display in their office and yes you get to keep the cup forever.
