Inspired by the movie which is based on Roald Dahl’s classic children’s book The BFG, Parcelforce Worldwide is among a small number of companies sponsoring individual jars in a new public art initiative called The BFG Dream Jar Trail.
The trail sees the childhood dreams and aspirations of 50 celebrities transformed into sculptures that will sit within jars in key locations across London and the UK. Parcelforce Worldwide is sponsoring the jar belonging to Mark Rylance called the Merry Go Round.
Situated on Parliament Square in London Mark Rylance’s dream jar recreates a merry-go-round from a dream he once had. He said: “There is a carousel, inside a glass house. A door opens and the Planets by Gustav Holst can be heard from outside. Old friends arrive, offering me work. When I hear the music I jump up and shout ‘What a great idea!’”
The jar will be on display in London until August 31 2016 before it is auctioned in collaboration with Paddle 8 – a marketplace for collectors, presenting auctions of extraordinary art and object- to raise money for Save the Children. The money raised will support the charity’s vital work in saving children’s lives and fighting for their rights across the world so that every child has the chance to make their dreams come true. It will also benefit a specialist nursing programme supported by Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity.
Parcelforce Worldwide has also decorated 10 of its single deck trailers with artwork from the movie to celebrate its July 22 2016 release in the UK. It is hoped that the captivating artwork will brighten up motorways up and down the country this summer, and reinforce Parcelforce Worldwide’s role in delivering dreams for people up and down the country. Parcelforce Worldwide are also offering a selection of giant offers on fun days out this summer during the school holidays at parcelforcerewards4u.com…..plus special discounts off parcels sending too.
