Tour de France road closure impact on ecommerce

No primary category set

The Football is almost over but this summer’s program of sports is still in full swing with Wimbledon, the Rio Olympics looming and the Tour de France under way. (Not forgetting the biggest event of the Summer – The Ecommerce Football Cup which takes place on Tuesday next week in Wembley).

Tour de FranceThe event that’s likely to cause most disruption to ecommerce is the Tour de France. David Jinks at Parcelhero gave us the heads up pointing out that road closures will take place along the route as the cycle race passes through various areas of France, Switzerland and Andorra. The road closures may have an impact on courier services until the race finishes on Sunday 24 July 2016 in Paris.

Generally delays are not likely to be more than a day, but it’s possible that some of your parcels may be slightly delayed in towns and cities along the route if delivery trucks can’t get through.
