Yumbles, the marketplace for foodies, has reinvented itself with a new logo, a new look and a new promise.
Everything on Yumbles is offered as all natural and free from artificial ingredients. Yumbles producers are producing quality food in small batches with everything taste tested by Yumbles to ensure deliciousness.
Foodies are also fastidious about what they eat. It doesn’t matter how delectable the treat, it needs to fit with their lifestyle too. That’s why everything on Yumbles is now classified into different dietary sections. If you’re looking for vegan or vegetarian, gluten free, organic, raw or paleo food then you’ll find it on Yumbles.
We’re all familiar with the structured data (Item Specifics, Product Identifiers etc) that eBay and Amazon are putting in place – Yumbles are doing the same for food. Lifestyle & Diet, Health & Ingredients, Social & Environmental are all options you can filter by to ensure you get the food you want.
There’s only one thing I’m not a fan of on the redesigned Yumbles site and that is their pricing isn’t as transparent as it could be. Many products are available on their ‘Subscribe and Save’ plans where if you agree to repeat orders at a regular interval then you receive a discounted price. Generally the ‘Subscribe and Save’ price is the one you see in search results making it hard to compare prices for a one off purchase.
Price display aside, it’s good to see Yumbles reinventing itself and prospering. Dan and I have long said that there’s absolutely no point in trying to out-eBay eBay or become another Amazon – just look at what’s happened to Rakuten in the UK.
To succeed a new marketplace needs to fulfil a niche and find a sector that’s not already adequately served. That’s what Yumbles have done and with their reinvention they are ensuring that they’ll be here to serve foodies with delicious treats no matter what their dietary demands for many years to come.
If you’ve not shopped Yumbles before and are wondering what’s so special about the site, ask yourself where else you could find amazing treats like a hand painted wedding cake alongside a chocolate hammer and chisel?
