The latest tactic in the battle to get deliveries to customers first time is to use neighbours as delivery and collection points.
Doddle are leading the way with their Doddle Neighbour program and now Doddle Neighbour customers can send parcels in the UK or return to any retailer for FREE for a limited time only. The only real limit is a maximum of 20 parcels per week per customer.
The offer is available to pre-book online via Doddle’s website and then drop off with their nearest Neighbour, or customers can just turn up on a Neighbour’s doorstep during their available hours. You can find your nearest Doddle Neighbour and their availability on the Doddle website.
20 parcels a week isn’t going to do much for most professional eBay sellers, but if you’re a casual seller having a clear out then it seems like a bit of a no brainer. Send up to 20 parcels for free, what’s not to like? The only one downside is that the parcel won’t be sent until the Doddle Neighbour takes the parcel into their nearest store, at which point it’ll then be a next day delivery. That means total delivery could be 2-3 days, so just let your buyers know in advance.
Doddle currently has Neighbours in Richmond, Bromley, Haywards Heath and Wimbledon, with new ones being added every week. The promotion runs until the 31st of October 2016, full Ts and Cs on the Doddle website.
