It’s Black Friday 2016: how’s it going?

No primary category set

I awoke this morning to radio news headlines telling me that it was Black Friday and that retailers expected to sell £1 billion of goods, mostly online. As a retailing event it has become an integral part of the ecommerce calendar with remarkable speed, despite it being a US import.

Certainly for marketers, it’s an opportunity to punt out offers and deals to eager shoppers and I offer, as evidence, my inbox this morning. My question will always be: does the reality meet the hype? Are there tangible and plentiful bargains to be had?

So let us know through the day how it goes. As a seller, are you participating in Black Friday deals? And if you’re not, are you enjoying an uplift anyway as the frenzy proceeds. And as a shopper have you bagged a bargain?
