Prince Fluffy Kareem wins eBay for Charity competition

No primary category set

eBay have announced the three charities who were favourited most and share £10,000 between them as winners of the eBay for Charity competition. The winners are:

  • 1st Place: Prince Fluffy Kareem – £7,000
  • 2nd Place: Freegle – £3,000
  • 3rd Place: Cancer Research UK – £2,000

If you’re like me you may never have heard of Prince Fluffy Kareem but apparently they’re a small group of people dedicated to improving the conditions for working animals and their owners in the pyramid area of Cairo, Egypt. Freegle is a site to give unwanted items away for free online in your local area and Cancer Research are of course dedicated to research on the causes, treatment and prevention of cancer.

This type of competition is very different to a decade ago, back then it was word of mouth but with Social Media the field is wide open for smaller and lesser known charities to win. If you can mobilise your following you’ll get the votes you need to win.
