Amazon Gift Wrap challenge was a success

As part of my Christmas 2016 ecommerce testing, Dave Furness of UnderstandingE volunteered to help with an Amazon experiment – how good are Amazon at delivering last minute gifts?

We left it until pretty much the last minute, at just gone 1.30pm on the 23rd of December Dave started the challenge which was to get a present delivered to me, fully gift wrapped, in time for me to open on Christmas Day.

The results are pretty impressive, at a cost of just under £3 extra per item for gift wrapping, Amazon delivered on Christmas Eve. Amazon’s gift wrap, whether it be boxed or a ribboned sleeve is superb. If you ever need to send a present overseas for Christmas then it’s a service worth considering. Simply make your purchase on the Amazon country site local to the recipient and pay for gift wrap as an alternative to the cost and time required for International post or courier.

Amazon’s gift wrap is so good that I’m tempted not to buy wrapping paper next year – why not just let Amazon do the gift wrapping for me?
