The main search changes Google made in 2016

Google made a large number of changes to their search algorithms and how search results are displayed in 2016. It’s easy to lose track of best practise and always a good idea to review how your content will appear to users on the web.

Google focused on reducing spam in search results, but also made changes such as adjusting the positions of paid adverts from Adwords and Product Listing Ads. Other changes including increasing the prominence of AMP listings and mobile friendly websites. Images also disappear from some search results. There was a lot in 2016 to take in, so here’s a useful infographic from E2M Solutions which calls out the major Google updates for 2016.
