eBay Restoration Live is coming back to the 2017 Silverstone Classic. The Classic draws crowds of more than 100,000 and eBay Restoration Live is located in the busy JET Village Green area.
At it’s debut at last year’s Silverstone Classic, eBay Restoration Live proved to be a massive hit with the crowds, who were enthralled as Fergus Walkinshaw and his team fully restored a first-generation Range Rover using parts and accessories sourced solely from eBay UK.
Motors fans will be able to follow the same team masterminding another captivating live restoration project, again using only items purchased online from eBay. The car will then be sold for Silverstone Classic’s charity partner Prostate Cancer UK on eBay after the event. One hundred per cent of the sale will go to the charity via the eBay for Charity programme.
The restoration team will also be bigger, made up of a five-strong team of mechanics hand-picked for this challenge and an additional mechanic provided by Forces’ Motorsport Charity, Mission Motorsport. Once the car is restored to its former glory, it will take centre stage at one of Mike Brewer’s Car Clinics presented by eBay, where Fergus will share the team’s experiences of the restoration.
What’s the aim of eBay Restoration Live?
Whilst the initial impact of eBay live is a feel good feeling for motors fans, the real point of the day is to demonstrate that eBay is the number one destination for car parts and accessories in the UK. It should be the first site you think of whether you’re after a wing mirror for a 40 year old classic or something as humdrum as some new wiper blades for your Ford Ka.
