Etsy Shop product order display tests

CATEGORY: Etsy News

Etsy have announced that they will test rearranging the display order of items in seller’s Etsy shops. Similar to eBay’s Best Match, the test will order items based on information that they know about your items, ‘specifically, how likely they are to result in a purchase’.

The idea is that Etsy can do some work on your behalf to connect buyers landing on your shop home page with items they’re most likely to purchase, hopefully resulting in more sales for you.

If you already ‘shop rearrange’ then Etsy won’t overwrite your own (Custom, Latest, or Lowest Price) shop display preferences. They also won’t be making any changes to any featured item selections you have chosen.

The idea of course is to highlight your best selling lines in your Etsy shop, based on how well they’ve sold in the past. If you have specific products you wish to promote, you can feature them, but the products that will appear on your Etsy shop home page will be those with the best chance of attracting sales from your customers.

Etsy will update their sellers if the test proves successful and become a permanent change to Etsy shop display.
