eBay mobile friendly listing checker glitch

No primary category set

eBay consultant and specialist Jane Bell has a warning for anyone about to use eBay’s new Mobile Friendly Checker on the eBay listing page…. Don’t do it!

There appears to be a glitch and whilst we applaud eBay’s efforts to make life easy for sellers, the link opens up a pop up to a dead page. Even worse, when the page opens there’s not ‘X’ to close the page and your only option is to click to close the browser window or hit the back button.

Sadly, clicking the link and then having to close the page or click the back button will lose all your carefully crafted listing details. If you are going to attempt to check if your listing is mobile friendly, Jane recommends saving a draft of your listing before you click the link. At least that way you’ll be able to re-open your listing and continue.

Hopefully eBay will have the glitch fixed in the near future.

  1. This glitch was mentioned in eBay business seller board just a few days ago. It would be nice if Jane at least mentioned the real source.
Since I mentioned that forum, it is full of examples of more annoying glitches: broken best match, disappearing photos, disappearing item specifics, “New without tags” condition showing as “used” or “preloved” “for parts or spares” as “parts only”, promoted listings hidden when “UK only” is selected, blocked buyers in Buyer Requirements Activity Log for no reason, third party adds causing pages to freeze, etc. Every day there is something new and sellers efforts to bring the issues to eBay’s attention always seem to fall on deaf ears.

  2. eBay has so many glitches its becoming an embarrassment to itself.
We adjusted listings using xpress lister remove unwanted videos etc.
Everything was great. Until suddenly ebay removed listings stating

“Some of your listings haven’t followed our Drugs and Drug Paraphernalia policy”

the listings were for a liquid to feed live corals in a fish tank and its name is ocean snow. That’s exactly what the real life food in the ocean is called yest apparently eBay say that’s a street name for a drug!!!

in the time it took me to get through to them on the phone they had already reinstated the listing. Unfortunately all they say is sorry and there is nothing they can do about relisting its sold figures that buyers see so it all starts from zero again.
I argued this very same item with them a year ago and they accepted the product and reinstated it. Yet do it again. They do not care about your sales being damaged at all. Roll on the tv adverts for ON BUY.com

  3. I have a glitch were my lonely planet travel guides keep being taken out of the travel guides and stories section and go into pre 1900 books. Very strange. I try to change back manually but says category not allowed or similar. So currently dumped them in other non fiction.

    Not very good

  4. Hi we downloaded express lister as recommended by Tamebay and updated all our descriptions to remove active content.

WHAT A MISTAKE since Friday all our listings have been revising stock totals upwards every hour automatically by random amounts on all listings we have now oversold on numerous items and eBay cannot explain whats happening.
So its either eBay or Express Lister.
Its altered payment email addresses its remover overseas shipping from some, its removed additional payment information.

    NIGHTMARE!!!!
