Magento Commerce announced at Imagine 2017 some major enhancements to its flagship product, Magento Commerce Cloud, including new capabilities for shipping, content management, social commerce, payments, and business intelligence.

The social commerce offering will be powered by Shopial (formerly EasySocialShop which we’ve written about in the past). The service turns your online shop into a Facebook shop in just 3 clicks, there is also a service for Pinterest. More than 24,000,000 products listed with through the Shopial service.

Shopial, founded by Ofir Tahor and Nissim Lehyani, was recently acquired by Magento and will now form the core of Magento’s newly announced Magento Social.

Magento Social enables merchants to engage with audiences directly through social media channels, including Facebook and Pinterest. With social channels expected to account for upwards of 10 percent of total online sales in 2017, Magento Social enables merchants to easily integrate updates and promotions, as well as provide detailed analytics that drive improved traffic.

Ofir Tahor, CEO and cofounder of Shopial, will become Head of Magento Social so continuity will be ensured for the service.

It’s always great to see a startup grow and prosper, we covered the launch of Shopial back in 2013 and now they’ve been acquired by just about the biggest webshop company in the world.

Congratulations to Ofir and the entire Shopial team!
