How does it work?

- You add 100–1,000 SKUs in first 7 days.
Focus on SKUs that sell in the $10-$25 range. You can add items manually, via CSV, via Merchant API, or via ChannelAdvisor.
Week 2–4:

We have applied twice now to Tophatter with no response. Not sure why?
It sounds like a really good place to sell in volume, that is until you read the information which says they want 25-35% commission after the first 30 days. That is really high compared to other marketplaces (the most expensive I have ever heard of) and it is simply not affordable for many volume sellers, especially in fashion. It is a real shame as it sounded a great place to sell volume until I read that 🙁
Had a look at the products that sells on this platform, looks more like a system for Chinese sellers, looking at the quality vs price point. It’s all got to be suspect stock.
Also, I watched the items on the main screen, either then have hundreds of people with the same name, or those same people are buying up a hell of a lot of stock, which also raises questions.
From a UK selling point of view, one of my barriers to entry is the enforcement that all items are sent with tracking; most of the site is buyers from USA and with items selling between $10-15, there just isn’t enough money left it in after fees and postage to make any real profit. If international sellers were given the option to post without tracking then I would be keen to continue selling on the platform, even if that meant losing seller protection. Sadly, the requirement for tracking has killed it as an option for me.
This place is a scam, they treat you like dirt as a seller and as a buyer.
After your trial you will pay 50%+ commission. Also they won’t schedule your items unless your shipping is 0.00 – 2.00 and your start price $1. Everything sells for less than $5 so you will end up paying people to buy your items. Don’t waste your time!
If you want to feel violated and cheated on all levels then go right ahead. The people running this company are jokes. If you complain about any issues you may have they will throw you off the site. The
dumbest people on the web.
