Meet the company: OrderWise

What do you do when you’re outgrowing your multichannel solution? According to OrderWise it’s to get an all in one modular solution which can scale further as your business grows. If you’re starting to discover that your business is being held back by software or that you’re expending ever increasing sums on staff to run your back office, then it’s time to start looking at new solutions.

There are only two ways for a business to make more money – the obvious is to sell more at higher margins, the second (often overlooked) are cost savings and efficiencies and this is where OrderWise say that they can help. We asked David Hallam, Managing Director of OrderWise to tell us more:

Who are OrderWise?

We are an all-in-one Business Management Software system, designed to offer multi-channel retailers everything they need to effectively handle all their daily processes from one single solution. It is a modular, scalable software system, allowing companies to adjust their solution as they grow. We provide everything to manage integration with websites, marketplaces and other online channels including listing tools all the way through to back-end stock control, warehouse and order management operations right through to accounting.

With over 25 years’ experience and more than 15000 users across a huge range of industries, sizes and sectors we have an exceptional understanding of eCommerce businesses, the challenges they face and the most effective way to overcome these. This means we provide much more than just the software, we provide guidance and advice on operations and processes that help transform the way companies work.

What do you offer?

Our solution is fully integrated, so the main benefit of what we offer is the everyday cost-savings and increased efficiency companies can experience through the better accuracy and more streamlined processes that our software drives. On the front-end, OrderWise can automate online integrations with sales order imports, stock level and price syncs, product listings, despatch exports with courier tracking details and much more which helps online retailers to avoid the pitfalls of overselling and eliminate unnecessary administration whilst also driving good customer service.

OrderWise also enables companies to efficiently manage their marketplace listings for eBay, Amazon and Google Shopping from a single interface, with an Amazon repricing tool to help customers land the Buy Box more frequently. With our software also offering links to over 40 different courier providers, companies can eliminate the manual rekeying of delivery details into courier platforms, ensuring fast, accurate order fulfilment is achieved.

Why would a retailer use OrderWise instead of your competitors?

I think there are two key differences between what we offer and our competitors, with the first being that we are complete all-in-one, end-to-end solution. There are a lot of systems out there that may just handle the listing side or the order processing or the stock management; here at OrderWise, we provide companies with one single piece of user-friendly software that they can utilise to manage every single aspect of their day-to-day operations. With our software being modular as well, companies can simply buy the functionality and the users they need before growing into the rest later.

The second main difference I think is the level of support we can provide businesses who come on board with us as they move forward from the project management and implementation through to ongoing support and account management. We currently have 170 dedicated staff working from our head offices in the UK who work solely on OrderWise with development, testing, project management, implementation, training, support and account management being delivered directly from the software manufacturer. This means that any company who uses OrderWise knows they have the benefit of a sound infrastructure to keep their business supported, are using the latest cutting edge technology and investing in a product that is continually developed with monthly updates to meet the fast-changing eCommerce landscape.

Case Study- Biketart

Before implementing OrderWise, Biketart was using a limited stock control system to manage orders being received through the company’s website, Amazon and eBay channels. This solution offered little integration to the other systems Biketart were using, which meant things became difficult to maintain. With this being the case, in 2015 Biketart began using OrderWise and Managing Director Adam Westwood has mentioned how the software has helped their business to flourish.

“After speaking with OrderWise, what came across is that, aside from excellent software, they had a proper understanding of the realities of running eCommerce and distribution businesses. It was clear that they’d taken the time previously to look at the companies they sell software to and design it around what those companies actually needed. The ability to tailor the system to our requirement was really important. Anything I suggested, OrderWise had an answer to and I really believed it had the ability do those things rather than it just being sales chat.

We have grown massively in the period since taking on OrderWise but staff are able to achieve much more due to the efficiency of the system. We have a much better handle on stock management and have been able to identify many areas of the business that needed improving. With clear reporting and forecasting features we’ve been able to spot opportunities that we would have otherwise missed and we have the information we need to make smart purchasing and selling decisions.”

What would your ideal retailer customer look like?

OrderWise isn’t industry or size-specific and is used daily by over 1,000 companies across the UK & Ireland who all use the software in a way suited to their methods of working.

I would say ours is the ideal solution for any business who may be using a standalone Accounts package like Sage or QuickBooks alongside a basic multi-channel order management system and are reaching the stage where they are now handling more products and orders than when they first started. If a company is reaching this stage and are finding that their existing systems are now starting to be less cost-effective and are struggling with the level of transactions they are putting through it, then we would say they are ready to make the move to a more comprehensive end-to-end solution with OrderWise.
