Royal Mail have slashed the price it costs to post a medium parcel for the summer by over 50%, but only if you buy your labels online. Some good news from eBay – they’ve arranged that if you buy your labels from eBay then you’ll also be able to get the discounts.
The offer is to send a Medium Parcel between 2kgs and 5kgs for £6.29 (was £13.75) or send a 2nd Class Signed For Medium Parcel (2kgs – 5kgs) for £7.29 (was £14.75).
The promotional price on Royal Mail medium parcels started on Monday this week, the 17th of July and will run until the 16th of October 2017.
It’s definitely worth adjusting your postage prices (or adding in Royal Mail 2nd Class Medium Parcel as an economy option if you don’t already do so). However don’t forget to pop a note in your diary to change your prices back to the norm before the 16th of October. If you sell an item and buy postage after that date then you’ll be paying the full rack rate (unless Royal Mail are nice and decide to extend the promotion to Christmas).

Why would use these expensive slow Royal Mail services, when eBay / Shutl already offer UPS Next Day for £5.65 upto 5kg & £6.49 upto 15kg

I would be more confident about this if the reduction was available over the counter. Why only online? What are they up to?
already tried to use this service yesterday and the local post office wouldn’t let me, insisting it was the normal price and that they hadn’t been informed nor their system updated so couldn’t accept. I even argued with them that it is a prepaid service so just put through the normal price as prepaid but they still wouldn’t accept it
Trying to close down more & more local post offices.
