With Amazon Prime Day just hours away, one might be mistaken for thinking that once it’s over the next big sales days will be Singles Day followed by Black Friday. That may be the case in the UK, but don’t forget that France is a unique country and they’re currently in the middle of their summer sale.
France is a strange country if you’re used to UK customs. Sure we have sales in the UK, but in France shop sales are government controlled – you can’t just have a sale when you feel like it. This means that French shoppers are expecting retailers to have offers on at the moment – the 2017 French state sanctioned summer sale is running from the 28th of June until the 8th of August. The dates do vary slightly by region, so in some parts of France the sales will run until the 15th of August.
If you’re attacking the French market you should bear this in mind, French shoppers are keen to spend at the moment but they are expecting a deal.
French Winter Sales 2018
If you’re wondering, yes the French do also have Winter Sales. Next year they will kick off on Wednesday the 10th of January 2018 and run through to Tuesday the 20th of February.
