Bonanza relaunch their seller app

No primary category set

In the USA, one marketplace that is most interesting is Bonanza. They bill it as “everything but the ordinary” and it’s proved popular with many disenchanted eBay sellers. And the good news is that they’ve launched a new mobile app for sellers.

As they say on the Bonanza blog: “The Bonanza Sellers iPhone app (2.0) is officially here! We listened to your feedback and have been hard at work improving this app to fit your needs. We are excited to walk you through the main features of this app and show you just how beneficial it can be to your online business.” As it stands, Bonanza is pretty much purely of interest to US sellers.

Bonanza

If you want to sell on Bonanza more efficiently, and you like using an Apple device, then you’ll find plenty of new options. You can read all about the functionality here.

As it stands, the current app is only readily available on Apple devices but, fear not, the Android version is coming too, they say.

It would be interesting to know how many Tamebay readers do actually plug into Bonanza. It’s a reasonable marketplace opportunity stateside, but do many European merchants make sales there? Do let us know.

Bonanza is a good example of why there is more scope for new marketplaces in general. Competition is good and both shoppers and sellers deserve more options. Tamebay has long been in favour of tangible challengers in the UK and EU who can offer a marketplace service that takes on Amazon and eBay.

But the the key issue is sales. It’s good to sell more and make more and thats why we need more options. More avenues to sell, and perhaps they’ll be niche and specialist, if they capture the imagination of consumers can only be a good thing. What say you?

One Response

  1. I am a happy Bonanza seller – I’d say it’s a great market place for anyone that *ships* to the US, not just US sellers. They use PayPal, so it’s no problem to get paid into a UK PP account. It’s fairly easy to list thousands of products via CSV and the fees are in line with other market places. Since it doesn’t cost anything to list, it was one of a few market places I just wanted to try out – and the only one out of those that was successful for me. 🙂
