Ecommerce returns platform ZigZag Global won the 2017 Startup Pitch at Shoptalk in Copenhagen.

The competition showcases and rewards excellence in innovation across a range of groundbreaking products and services.
Fung Global Retail Tech Managing Director Deborah Weinswig moderated the startup pitch competition at where 13 innovative early-stage companies vied for two cash prizes of €25,000 each. Leaders from the startups pitched their businesses to a panel of three judges, who chose one winner, and the audience, who chose the other winner.

Hundreds of hopeful startups from all over the world were shortlisted to just 13 entries from seven countries for the final round of judging. The judges spent time analysing each retail and software solution and researching the candidates before each company took to the stage to present their solutions in front the retail audience.

Each startup was assessed based on five criteria: whether it solves a significant challenge or addresses a significant opportunity, the feasibility of its business model, its scalability, its leadership team’s ability to execute, and whether the judge/audience member would invest in the company. ZigZag Global received a prize of €25,000 with congratulations also going to audience choice EON.ID.

Al Gerrie, Founder and CEO of ZigZag Global said “winning the judges award at ShopTalk Europe is superb validation of ZigZag’s mission to improve returns for consumers and retailers globally. We are committed to providing the world’s most advanced returns solution and we continue to drive innovation. We are very proud the ZigZag team has been honoured in this way.”

ZigZag Global helps retailers manage returns. Clients include Topshop, Mahabis, Soletrader Dorothy Perkins and the platform also launches with a major UK luxury retailer this month.
