You can now organise your eBay watch list by category

No primary category set

New options for your eBay watch list are now available. It’s now possible to filter by category. So if you’re both a a record enthusiast and an expectant mum, you won’t have to wade through everything to check out how your watch items are doing and decide if you’re ready to buy.

As eBay says in their announcement: “Today, we’ve added category filters to the eBay Watch List to help do just that. The new filter feature lets you sift through your Watch List by selecting a specific category of items to view. Watching items on eBay has never been easier with this filtering option that helps you compare and find what you are looking for.

When you go to your Watch List, you’ll see different categories for the different types of items you have saved, whether it’s Men’s Shoes or Nursery Bedding! Once you select the category you are interested in filter to, you’ll be able to see all of those specific items in your Watch List. Now, all you have to do is decide which to buy.”

The new watch list options for category filters are currently live on desktop and on the iOS app in the US, UK, Germany, Australia, Canada, France, Italy and Spain. And soon will be available on Android later this year.

This is a good enough enhancement to the eBay watch item functionality and hopefully it will encourage more people to watch more items and then mean more sales on the marketplace. If anything it’s a rather overdue enhancement.

It’s interesting to see that eBay does seem to be making a number of small changes this autumn. Nothing yet has been game changing but perhaps the sum of these many small changes will end up being more than the sum of their parts.
