Pay with Google now available through Braintree Direct

Braintree Direct merchants in countries where Braintree currently supports Android Pay can now allow their customers to make purchases with Pay with Google.

You can learn more in Section 1: Start of the DIY ECOMMERCE GUIDE

Pay with Google allows consumers to make purchases with payment methods they’ve stored in Android Pay, and, for the first time, other payment methods they’ve associated with their accounts on Google properties like YouTube, the Play Store, and the Google Store.

Existing Braintree merchants that offer Android Pay today can expand upon their current integration to allow for these new payment methods by integrating Pay with Google. Braintree merchants that are new to Google payment experiences can integrate Pay with Google and get the full breadth of payment methods that Google now makes available.

In addition, this feature is now available for some merchants who accept payments on the web — not just native mobile apps. Consumers using Chrome on their mobile Android devices can also see the Pay with Google option if merchants choose to integrate Pay with Google on their websites as well.

Boxed and Stubhub are two of our first merchants to begin integrating Pay with Google through Braintree Direct for their web experiences, offering greater flexibility and choice at checkout for their customers.

Enhancing our merchants’ commerce experiences by partnering with key players in the industry has been and will continue to be top of mind for Braintree. Our partnership with Google is a testament to this, and one we’ve proudly continued to build since enabling Android Pay in 2015.
