Magento Commerce’s Amazon support boosts marketplace capability for Top1000 retailers

Magento Commerce is to support Amazon marketplace, enabling merchants to manage inventory on the marketplace from their Magento platform. The move makes it easier for multichannel retailers to use the marketplace as part of their omni-channel strategy.

As more retailers and brands look to start selling through marketplaces, the move makes it much simpler and cost effective for many merchant already using Magento Commerce to integrate Amazon into their operations.

Magento is also the leading provider of ecommerce platforms to the InternetRetailing Top 1000, the B2B 300 and the Top 500 Guides for Europe and Latin America. These are the most lucrative customers for multichannel management platforms who operate on a sales commission basis.

They are also the kinds of brands and retailers who are looking to get their presence felt on marketplaces as customer shopping habits change.

The introduction of Amazon support has been driven by merchant demand, says Magento. Some 92% of merchants surveyed by the platform company said that they expect to grow their Amazon sales channel revenue over the next 12 month and Magento say that merchants will benefit from powerful listing tools that direct product distribution and visibility, provide detailed competitor reporting, and generate pricing recommendations, all designed to increase sales revenue.

The move comes as Amazon announced improvements to its brand registry, which is vital for anyone selling under a brand name, as it helps protect your registered trademarks and create an accurate and trusted experience for customers.

Main features of the Magento Commerce Amazon solution

Magento’s new Sales Channel capability allows merchants to quickly and seamlessly sell through the Amazon Marketplace using these features:

  • Leverage Amazon’s extensive catalogue data for storefront enhancements such as advanced search, filtered navigation, and promotional rules.
  • Automatically match products and list them across Amazon’s North American, APAC, and European marketplaces.

  • Utilize marketing tools such as the ‘Amazon Strikethrough Price’ to enhance listings and increase sales.
