If you’re interested in some unusual collectible stock or everything from box loads of plush toys to sell to some racking for your warehouse, then there’s a cracking auction taking place this week.
In association with Prestige Auctions, BidonThis are running a huge and exciting auction this Wednesday and Thursday (7th – 8th March 2018) for the clearance of Pleasure Island Family Theme Park in Cleethorpes near Grimsby.
The closure of Pleasure Island has had a huge amount of press coverage as it’s iconic to the area, over £40,000 of advance bids have already been placed online and it’s looking to be a huge event both on the internet and at the park itself.
With over 1,000 lots there is actually quite a lot of interesting stock that could be suitable for online sellers, – even BidonThis themselves have already been pleasantly surprised at how many people are looking to make money judging by the bids placed. Since it’s a complete site clearance, everything there when the park shut down is being sold – all the stands and merchandise (including Christmas goods) and toys are being auctioned and there are also a vast array of Pleasure Island signs from around the park.
The most exciting lot is Lot 890 a Carousel ride from 1904 which has had a huge interest both online and on site and has an estimate of £180,000 – £250,000. More affordable lots include a Costa Sign (Estimate £10 – £20) and wall mounted horses (Estimate: £70 – £120), but this is just a small selection of the lots being offered. The entire park is for sale and it includes everything that’s not nailed down and a few things that are, so if you have £5,000 – £10,000 to spare how about your very own dodgems ride?
The auction will be streamed live via BidonThis as well as live bids on site as the auction commences so you can listen to your online bids competing with those in the room live.
Viewing is on site on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th March from 9am – 5pm. No appointment necessary

The last time I looked, Pleasure Island was in Cleethorpes, not Grimsby.
