Wayfair has created a new fake online sales event: Way Day

Here’s another one. Black Friday. Prime Days various. Cyber Weekend. Single’s Day. Rice Pudding Fest*. And the rest. There’s nothing much new about invented promotional sales events in retail. But online retailers and the marketplaces do seem to have taken the notion to a brand new high. Now you can have a Way Day and celebrate your home and everything in it and buy goods from Wayfair to spruce up your home in time for the summer. Just rejoice.

They invite North American consumers to take advantage of the lowest prices since Black Friday and free shipping site wide with what they say is an inaugural Spring sales event.

We are looking to put a new retail holiday on the map that celebrates home. Spring is the season when our customers are especially focused on sprucing up and furnishing outdoor spaces in anticipation of warm weather and summer entertaining. Many are also readying their homes for sale or moving into new ones. During Way Day, we’ll offer the best door-buster prices at a time when we know our customers value it most. We have partnered with our suppliers to source the best deals on the most popular products across all categories of furniture, décor, outdoor living and home improvement just in time for spring.

Way Day will be on Wednesday, April 25th for one day only and Wayfair says they will be offering the lowest prices since Black Friday on more than 70,000 products with new deals landing every six hours from midnight. They promise that Way Day prices will be available across all major product categories including kitchen & dining, bedding, rugs, tabletop, and mattresses including the company’s exclusive, compact bed-in-a-box mattress, Nora.
