MetaPack is set to expand its Carrier Certification Programme in the UK and then into European countries later in the year. The programme launched 2016 and is a way of Metapack to offer more flexibility and carrier services to its retailer customers.
The MetaPack Carrier Certification Programme represents a formal binding agreement between MetaPack and the Carrier Members on how they work together to offer services to retailers and shoppers. For merchants, the major attraction is that it means Metapack has done the heavy lifting when it comes to verifying carriers, establishing trust and SLAs.
The programme has proven to be a great success. For our carrier partners the certification of their services is a huge endorsement and through our funding framework they are supported with ongoing maintenance tasks so budgeting has become easier. Retailers now have the fastest and most economical way to access certified carrier services, which helps them to expand their delivery options portfolio.
– Simon Croft, Carrier Account Director at MetaPack
MetaPack says it expects to add 20 new carriers to the selection available through the Carrier Certification Programme by the end of 2018. And the scheme will also be expanding overseas, specifically serving key markets within Europe.
And the service is also connected to MetaPack’s Carrier Mapping tool which provides instant online access to carrier information by origin, destination and type. Certified carriers in the UK are listed, and European carriers will be added into the tool as they come onboard.
As the need for a variety of carriers to serve your online enterprise becomes ever more keen, services that make it easier to plug into multiple providers (and there is a lot of choice out there) become very useful indeed. So news of this expansion, with robust accreditation, is welcome. And the aspiration of expanding it into the EU is a sign of confidence in the face of Brexit and its many unknowns.
