Each week we are releasing a new position paper, aiming to capture different news which crosses multiple marketplaces and channels and collate the news on the different subjects, to make it easier for you to find when it’s of interest. This week we turn our focus to the Marketplaces themselves.
In our Marketplace Position Paper, Paul Skeldon explores the history of the online venues, how they’ve developed and changed over the past few decades and looks to the future to see how they are likely to develop and how this will impact consumes who shop on a marketplace and the merchants who trade on them.
The position paper also explores the way in which marketplaces have defined ecommerce as the many innovations that they’ve introduced find their way onto third party sites and become mainstream, often using the mobile as the window on the world.
